About Canada Sabha
Canada Sabha of Chitrapur Saraswats is founded by the
Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmins of Canada to pursue the religious goals and
missions of the Shri Chitrapur Math. For past several years, community
members have been meeting in congregation for satsangs (prayers),
bhajans (group singing), discourses and lectures in various topics from
the Vedanta Shastra.
The principal focus of this organization, which is a non profit entity
in Ontario, is to propagate the message of Sanathana Dharma (Hindu
philosophy) and the messages and interpretations of our Guru, Shri Shri
Swami Sadyojat Shankarashram, the current head of the Chitrapur Math in
Shirali in Karnataka, India.
The focus of the organization is to bring the community together and
strengthen the information base for the growing numbers of younger
generation of Chitrapur Saraswats in Canada and also for all those
interested in learning more about the Hindu and Chitrapur Saraswat
culture and traditions. The organization will spread the message of the
Math's teachings and the general principals of Hindu philosophy into
its youth members and to the public at large so that they will benefit
from the richness of the traditions of the Math and its teachings.
